I started out today by testing my cheapo HID lights I got off eBay for $35. I just hooked them up to my car battery. I know it doesn't look like it in this picture because it's daytime but boy are these things bright! Then I came inside and cut out the template from Duckworks for the leading edge cutout and taped it ever-so-carefully to the appropriate spot on the leading edge like so. Then I traced out the cutout location. After doing this for both wings, it hit me that the blue stuff was still on. Quick work with the soldering iron took care of the blue stuff and then I retraced the cutout onto the bare aluminum. It went a little quicker after doing the practice run on the blue plastic... Now it's ready to be cut out. I'm a little anxious about cutting gaping holes in my leading edge so I measured about 46 times just to be sure. Then I went and looked at other peoples' leading edge cutouts to see if they matched up with where I had mine marked. They do. Tomorrow I will tackle cutting the holes.
