I had a quick but productive day in the garage. I managed to finish up the left aileron. All I had left to do was rivet the bottom of the spar. I made quick work of puling the rivets on the bottom because I finally bought a new rivet puller. A small detail here, on the trailing edge of the ribs, there is not enough room to get a squeezer in there so I drilled out the hole to 1/8" and countersunk the dimple a little bit and put in a CS4-4 flush pulled rivet. Worked like a champ! Here is my new rivet puller! My old POS from Harbor Freight I guess never worked correctly. I had to really push hard to get the stems in the puller and then when they were in, it wouldn't actually pull the rivet on most squeezes, and once I finally had pulled the rivet, it wouldn't release the stem. I spent most of my time banging it against the floor to get it to release. This puppy, though, worked flawlessly! Easy in, gripped on the first squeeze, and then let go no problems. Maybe my new favorite tool! I can't believe I waited this long to buy a new one, especially since it was only $20...
