It's been about a week since I have done anything on the project. Mostly because it's been really cold here and, therefore, also in the garage so I've mainly been sitting in my awesome and really good looking old blue chair being not cold in the garage... Anyway, I got my nutplates in the mail from Aircraft Spruce so I put one of those bad boys on my right aileron and then put in the inboard rib. It was smooth sailing getting it all riveted up. Especially with my new rivet puller. That made pulling all the rivets on the leading edge and the bottom of the spar cake. I thought they looked really good so I took another one. I put the brackets on the ailerons and torqued the bolts so these puppies are flight ready. Too bad there is not a rest of the plane to take them on. The bolts were a little bit of a pain because the brackets make it just a little tough to get to heads of the bolts and the skin makes it a little tough to get to the nut. All it took was a little perseverance and these got done. The orange stuff is inspection lacquer. I put it on right after torquing them so I wouldn't forget. It basically dries very brittle so it'll crack if the nut starts loosening up and makes it easy to see it.
