Today I started out by bending the right elevator skin trailing edge. My first bending brake was a little anemic so I made a new one out of some beefy boards that are an inch thick and 6 inches wide. This set didn't even think about splitting while I was bending the skin. Here's the finished bent trailing edge of the right elevator skin. Notice the new brake on the workbench, the old brake leaning against the wall in the background, and the nicely bent trailing edge of the skin. Also notice all the snow on the ground. I'm kind of glad I don't have a garage to build in right now as it would probably be really cold in there seeing as it hasn't been above freezing here since about mid November... Stupid Ohio. ![]() Next I clecoed and drilled the right elevator understructure. ![]() And then I clecoed the understructure to the skin and drilled all the holes. ![]() Finally, I clecoed on the elevator horn and drilled it to the elevator assembly. ![]()
