I sporadically worked throughout the day today and made some good progress but you wouldn't know it to walk into my garage. Over today, I managed to get the right tank skin completely dimpled and scuffed where the pro-seal will eventually go. I also scuffed the left skins and the baffles and all the ribs. Here is what the skins looks like after it's been scuffed. The left skin still needs to be dimpled. More excitingly, my order of clecos finally came it today! To celebrate, I thought I'd use them to help drill the fuel tank inspection cover plate. Here's the covers drilled to the end tank ribs. Next, I took the cover plates off and clecoed on the reinforcement ring. I back-drilled the nutplate attach holes through the ring to the rib and then countersunk the reinforcement ring and dimpled the rib. Finally, I riveted the nutplates and reinforcement rings to the end tank ribs. No sealant here per the instructions but I'm a little worried that the lower tooling hole might leak. When I seal it up, I might just put some pro-seal in the tooling hole to help seal it up. Just to be sure.
