Just did exactly the same thing as a few days ago, I put on the right leading edge. It's pretty exciting as things are finally starting to come together for good and it's looking a little wingish. I screwed in the wing tie-downs which just came from Van's. If you look closely, you can see that the ring is not screwed all the way in. I need to tap the tie-down bracket a little deeper so it will have room but I also intentionally did not screw it all the way in yet. There is about a 1/4" gap in between the tie-down bracket (inside the leading edge) and the skin. I don't want to screw the ring in so far that it dents the skin in so I need to make some sort of bushing to stop the ring just before it gets to the skin. A small plastic or metal bushing should do the trick. Also, I had some z-bracket screws not line up on this tank too. I don't know what I did or how a few random screw holes on the brackets could now be misaligned but somehow I managed to do it...
