Today was a big day that's been a couple months in the making. It seems like it's been quite a while since I finished the tanks because it's been a while since I finished the tanks... There was tons of prep work on the skeleton and skins leading up to this but I finally got to start riveting on the top skins tonight! I did this all by myself so there was a bit of a learning curve and it also took quite a while but I managed to get a good amount done. I started on the interior ribs and worked my way towards the edges of the skin. I four of the six interior ribs riveted in and still have two more wing walk ribs to do before the interior ribs on this skin are done. I also set most of the rivets along the top to the spar. It got kind of late so I stopped the loud noises here but I continued to squeeze the rivets to the rear spar. Here is a another shot of tonight's work. I managed to do all this by myself but this step is usually done with a partner. A partner would definitely make this easier but with the tank removed, I was able to get to the rivets in the top half of the skin and then in a laying-downish type position under the wing I was able to get to the rivets on the bottom half. Like I said, not easy but doable. Being young, tall, thin, and having spindly arms helped.
