Tonight I felt like working on the plane and since the only thing that I really have left to do on the empennage is to roll and rivet the leading edge of the left elevator, that's what I did. These first two pictures show the first little section of the leading edge rolled and clecoed together. The rest of the leading edge is still sticking straight out. These next two pictures show how I actually roll the leading edges. Put copious amounts of tape on the edge of the half of the leading edge to roll, stick the PVC pipe to it, then roll it in while pushing down with lots of pressure. This part is hard on the hands. I roll the edges until they more or less stay rolled with the holes even with the middle of the spar by themselves. This makes getting the clecos in there really easy and prevents the metal in between the clecos/rivets from pillowing out. This is as far as I got tonight before my hands, specifically my left hand, got tired and gave out. It's amazing how tender and weak my left hand still is even though it's been almost two years since it "exploded" (it didn't actually explode, my thumb was forcefully pulled away from the rest of my fingers so that my hand ripped open to a pretty nasty gash about two inches long and an inch deep in the webbing between the thumb and pointer finger, tearing all the muscle there). Next I have one more section to roll and then I need to rivet the leading edge.
