Wings :: WingDrilled wing skins
3 Hours
I know it doesn't look like much progress was made but I did lots of work tonight. My clecos came in today so work could recommence as I am now swimming in exactly 500 clecos! It all started by clecoing on the rest of the top skins and all the bottom skins onto the wings. It just happened to work out that I had the perfect amount of clecos to do the job with one in every fourth hole (and also about 60 in the left leading edge). Here are the wings fully yet temporarily dressed.
Once the 450ish clecos were in the wings, I started drilling and drilling and drilling... Just a rough estimate but there is a cleco in every fourth hole on average so that means I drilled approximately 1800 holes! Ok, so I only drilled approximately 1350 holes because I haven't moved the clecos and drilled the holes they were in yet... I am so glad I had my new cordless drill for this. It's so light and powerful it actually made drilling all the holes bearable. We'll see if my attitude changes when it comes time to debur and dimple/countersink all those bad boys...
