Well the pro-seal finally came today along with the pre-made fuel pickups. I got too late of a start to work with the pro-seal tonight because I still had to clean the parts and also buy some supplies, mainly a kitchen scale, gloves, popsicle sticks, and plastic cups. Here is what the pre-made fuel pickups look like. Much better than what I could do I imagine... Before committing to drilling the attach holes in the blank cover, I fit the pickup and the alternate cover in the rib to see how it all went together. I liked how it all lined up so I just clecoed the two blank covers to the predrilled one and drilled the two anti-rotation bracket holes. With those drilled, I traced where the 9/16" hole should be, then found the center and drilled it to size with a unibit. After this was done, I started cleaning the skins. Finally after about 15 paper towels I got the insides of the skin clean. Tomorrow I will go over them with rags and a strong solvent to get them "clean clean" as called for in the instructions. Also I washed the stiffeners off in the kitchen sink. They too will get the rag and solvent treatment tomorrow. Everything is all set up now for the first bout with the pro-seal -- I hope to get all the stiffeners knocked out tomorrow!
