Wings :: Tanks
Riveted all tank end ribs
3 Hours

Last night I applied the proseal to the right fuel tank end ribs and then clecoed them into the tank and let them sit over night. Today I got in the garage and set the rivets. This goes pretty quickly and easily with the squeezer. You have to be careful because the squeezer wants to slide around with the proseal on the rivets. I was able to get them all squeezed except for the one rivet right above the plumbing fixtures in the inboard rib which I used the gun on.

After I finished setting all the rivets in the right tank, I prosealed the end ribs into the left tank. Things had moved so quickly to this point and there was still enough time left before bed time that I decided to set all the rivets in the left tank end ribs. They went just as smoothly as the right tank. Here's some shots of the tanks with all the ribs in. Next thing to do is the extra prosealing of the end ribs as well as attaching the end rib tip reinforcements. Pretty soon they'll get closed up.
